This is the 1 1/2" Scale 2-8-0 that I have sold to another club member. It is a Railroad Models Corporation engine that is oil fired and steams easily.

My Newest Acquisition---"BIG RED"---A RMI 1 1/2" Scale Steeple Cab and home made Riding Car. Born early 2007.   The riding car now has the seats removed and is a flat car with cargo. A result of an accident October 18, 2008 posted below. That's the engineer, Joe, hanging on for dear life. The new RMI Operators Car is shown above.

Both the Steeple Cab and Riding Car had 7 1/4" gauge wheels. We spent 7 hours changing the Steeple's wheels to 7 1/2" gauge....Such fun!!      The gentleman on the right, standing without the hat is the proud owner of the 2-8-0. That's me hiding behind the Steeple Cab.

Finally, it was off to the track to test the Steeple Cab and give it 'my' first run.
That's Paul in the background, our resident truck expert. Note how clean my jeans are after a day of crawling around and working on the trucks.

The Steeple Cab entering the entrance crossing--heading toward the station to pick up the riding car.

I'm trying to talk Paul into taking the Steeple for a test run. Didn't take a lot of convincing.
After all, he was the one who sat on the ground and did most of the work. He deserved a trip around the track.  The Steeple Cab performed flawlessly. The Phoenix sound system with the 250 watt amplifier is awesome.

October 18, 2008. Here lies the base and seats at what is now called Mike's Stump. The seat closest to the stump was mine. I landed on the opposite side of the stump. That is me down the track assessing the damage. The controller needed the speed potentiometer replaced.

Here is the "wrecking crew" loading the steeple cab on a flat car. Easy work for the two handed cranes on the 500+ lb. engine.

Is it straight? Will it work? Answers are both a resounding YES. The next day the potentiometer was replaced and "Big Red" was back on the rails to get ready for next months Run and Operation days.
I'm not going to address the purple hat.

The latest update, August 21, 2010 showing Big Red and the new Operators Car.

Keep checking back for updates as they occur. Until your next visit....may all your signals be green.
