Excellent rendition of Il Silenzio (Taps) The girl's name is Melissa Venema and she is playing with maestro Andre Rieu from Masstriecht in the Netherlands. It appears she is in her early teens, but says she has been performing for years. This performance is in 2008 in Masstriecht where city officials sealed off the town square and closed everything down so they get perfect noise control! Note that the maestro winks at her to begin. The origin of Taps has never been established. The version that is most probable is that of a Confederate bugler playing Il Silenzio during the Civil War. Both sides adopted this version as what we now know as an evening prayer originally played during what is without a doubt the saddest time in our nation's history.
North Platte Canteen Dedicated To The Greatest Generation The North Platte, Nebraska Canteen is the story of the women of a small town who devoted their time and skills to over 6 million servicemen who passed through North Platte during World War II. Their dedication to serving the military has never been equaled. Many World War II veterans still remember the wonderful people of North Platte, Nebraska.
LT. Col Oliver North Speaking About Our Men & Ladies In Our Armed Services Today Before The National NRA Annual Meeting in 2009.
America's Got Talent This video is from the television show America's Got Talent. It aired on June 1, 2010. It is about a group of previously homeless Veterans and how music enabled them to reclaim their lives. It is a clear demonstration of how the members of Congress have abandoned Veterans since our countries birth.
3rd Grade Singing This song comes from the 3rd graders of Tussing Elementary School of Colonial Heights, Virginia. It speaks for itself.
Kiss-Gene Simmons Unbelievable video from Gene Simmons and Kiss-without the makeup. The group was not born in the United States. They performed their version of rock and roll during the 1970's and never had any political songs in their act. All Americans should watch this, especially the "unbiased" press.
Greatest Play In Baseball How many of the viewers remember this "Greatest Play".
Kate Smith sings "God Bless America" for the first time. In early 1940, Kate Smith, a fiercely patriotic American, and the biggest star on radio, was deeply worried about her country. She asked Irving Berlin if he could give her a song that would re-ignite the spirit of American patriotism and faith. He said he had a song that he had written in 1917, but never used it. He said she could have it. She sat at the piano & played it and realized how good it was. She called Mr. Berlin and told him that she couldn't take this from him for nothing. So, they agreed that any money that would be made off the song would be donated to the Boy Scouts of America. Thanks to Kate and Irving, the Scouts have received millions of dollars in royalties. This clip is from the movie "You're in the Army Now". You will see a familiar face (near the very end) in this one that we are all very proud of. Frank Sinatra said that when Kate Smith, whom he considered the greatest singer of his age, first sang this song on the radio, a million guys got 'dust' in their eyes and had to wipe the tears the 'dust' caused. On October 26, 1982, Smith was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, America's highest civilian honor, by President Ronald Reagan.
